Statement of Commitment by Hineuru

Tena tatau,

At the meeting of Hineuru Iwi Trust of Friday 29 May 2020 Trustees continued discussion about how it should provide support and awhi to our whanau impacted by COVID-19. This statement was approved and endorsed as a means of advocating for sustainable employment of Hineuru tribal members. You will see that a number of posts on our Facebook page and website will refer to job vacancies that we become aware of. This is a direct response to trying to alleviate the impact that some of our whanau are experiencing – the loss of employment.

One of the other initiatives we are keen to facilitate in the next few weeks is holding online Zoom focus group hui to find out from our whanau what support they need and ways that we can provide support. Mei Winitana, one of our trustees will be facilitating these. Please send an email to info@hineuru.com if you are interested in participating in these.

Nga mihi
