The Department of Conservation is seeking applicants for the position of Ranger, Community (Permissions) Kaitiaki Ao Hāpori, based in Napier.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a strong, hardworking team and support conservation growth in Hawke’s Bay alongside our Treaty partners and communities.

Core components of this role include:

• Coordinating local involvement in statutory processes, such as Statutory Land Management, RMA, and the administration of concessions and Wildlife Act permits;
• Overseeing community-led conservation projects on public conservation land;
• Providing support for landscape scale conservation initiatives in our communities;
• Managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders;
• Supporting whānau, hapū and iwi in kaitiakitanga

The core part of this role relates to our Treaty Partner relationships through Te Matau a Māui.
